![]() Should I replace the tracks or do they just need tensioning? They havent come off, but it feels like the drive sprocket will just cut through them if I load them too much. I am afraid of even taking tight turns and turning in one spot. The tracks are old, but the previous owner assured me that if treated very tenderly, they will have max 1000 hours left in them. Both tracking levers have a lot of play in them, but one has a lot more play than the other.Īlso a track in one side slips/skips when moving under load or turning around in one spot. The biggest quirk is that when I try to track forwards, it veers off to one side. I dont want the machine to break down when I'm helping out a friend, far away from my tools and workshop. I'm asking for feedback for the following quirks to try to identify what needs fixing and how critical it is. I also have a dream of making a log crapple for it and attaching a trailer hitch on the blade to haul an ATV log trailer. I bought it to dig ditches, swales, mini ponds, shovel sheep sh*t, do some work for friends and friends of friends. Its a 1.6 tonne mini excavator made in 1998 and has rubber tracks. It has its quirks, none of which have yet (in 10 hours) stopped me using it on my farm. I bought an old Schaeff HR12 with 7000 hours on it. Can anyone explain how to take this apart to get to that seal? I found another thread that mentions this: In the thread the its this 19129-02621 is the part number.Īny help is much appreciated, I see these drives for sale on ebay for 2600-3K which is a lot for me! ![]() Im assuming there is a seal on the back side that needs to be replaced at best. I took the front cover off and it looks packed with sluge/mud. I then went to squirting in fine oil and it was leaking out from what looks like the middle of the tracks. Trying to force gear oil in and none would go in or come out the drain hole. I went to change that today, one was fine, replace the oil with fresh. Second issue is the real issue, like anything I buy I go through it and Ive replaced all the filters and fluids except the final drive gear oil. Can anyone explain how to get to the alternator and the is the regulator built into it? Wouldn't be that big of a deal except it looks like a major project to get to the alternator to check it out. WHen running no power going to the battery. The first is the battery isn't charging, I discovered the warning light is burnt or blown and the battery is dying.
